Overview
The Distribution Specialist is a key member of the supply chain logistics team responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of medical supplies, administrative documents, equipment, and—when needed—patients across a multi-site healthcare enterprise. This role supports daily clinical operations by ensuring that medical supplies are delivered accurately to clinics, facilitates inter-office administrative correspondence, and assists with building relocations, move-ins, and FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) transport.
The position requires a reliable, organized, and customer-service-focused individual with a strong understanding of logistics in a healthcare environment. The specialist may also assist with patient home deliveries and transport assignments as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Deliver medical supplies and materials from the centralized receiving location to clinic and administrative sites, ensuring accuracy and timely service.
- Transport sensitive documents and interoffice materials between departments while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Support facility relocations, department moves, and new site activations by transporting and assisting with staging of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
- Serve as a driver for internal team and patient transport needs across clinical, administrative, and residential locations, ensuring safety, professionalism, and compliance with organizational protocols.
- Assist with inventory staging, restocking, and basic processing of incoming and outgoing orders within centralized ordering and receiving operations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel usage, and inventory movement using provided tracking systems or logs.
- Follow all fleet safety policies and transportation protocols, including procedures for handling sensitive or regulated materials.
- Support additional logistical needs, including patient home deliveries and interdepartmental event setup, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently for scheduled deliveries and transports across clinical and administrative sites.
- Knowledge of safe practices for lifting, loading, and transporting medical supplies, furniture, and equipment.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards when handling sensitive documents or patient-related items.
- Ability to maintain accurate logs for deliveries, mileage, and inventory movement.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with clinical staff, administrators, and vendors to coordinate services.
- Assist with staging, restocking, and tracking of supplies to support centralized ordering and receiving operations.
- Utilize mobile apps, inventory software, or tracking tools to complete tasks efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (higher degree accepted)
- Required
Work Experience:
- 2 years Experience in a transportation, delivery, or logistics role.
- Required - 2 years
Experience with moving, FF&E support, or relocation services.
- Required - 1 year Experience with basic inventory handling,recordkeeping, and delivery software. Preferred
- 1 year Experience in a healthcare, facilities, or supply chain environment preferred. Preferred

- Drivers License Upon Hire
