Customer Service Representative – you’ll help patients check into the hospital in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll be the point of contact for registration questions, collecting information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion to address patients’ fears and concerns.
To thrive in this role, you must be a confident multitasker, quick to learn new technology, and able to type and answer phones. No prior healthcare experience is required. Employees will be exposed to a clinical environment and must be prepared to manage illness and injury. We provide all necessary training. You must also be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check before hire.
Whatyou can expect working in Patient Registration (Customer Service)
- Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient information in a busy setting. Coordinate multiple screens to ensure accurate data entry between physicians and nurses.
- Assist patients who may be ill or worried. Listen carefully to ease their anxiety and build rapport by asking follow‑up questions.
- Navigate a fast‑paced environment while managing varying health plans and coverage details. Work quickly and adapt to unexpected changes.
- Collaborate with a team that supports your career goals. This is the first step to a long‑term career in healthcare at R1.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service experience
- Medical experience
For this US‑based position, the base pay range is $15.50–$23.21 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
