Position

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Molecular Assistant to support daily operations within our molecular diagnostics laboratory. This is an excellent entry‑level laboratory opportunity for individuals who have completed or are currently completing degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related fields. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, proactive, and eager to grow within a clinical lab environment.

Schedule

Full‑time, Monday–Friday

Shift will be either 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with processing, labeling, documenting, and organizing clinical samples for molecular testing
  • Track scheduled tasks, including equipment and machine maintenance
  • Follow all SOPs and accurately complete required documentation and logs
  • Organize laboratory supplies, reagents, consumables, and maintain inventory levels
  • Assist with reagent preparation and basic laboratory workflows (training provided)
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance across the laboratory
  • Support quality control procedures, equipment checks, and documentation
  • Enter data into spreadsheets, LIS systems, logs, and tracking tools
  • Answer phones, voicemails, and emails professionally
  • Support troubleshooting, workflow improvements, and communication within the team
  • Track testing status and notify supervisors of pending or delayed orders
  • Assist with receiving shipments, unpacking supplies, labeling items, and restocking
  • Participate in team meetings, providing updates and suggestions for improvement
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to follow SOPs and document work accurately
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data entry tools
  • Ability to work safely and maintain a clean, compliant laboratory environment
  • High school diploma required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework, training, or experience in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Biotechnology
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in a science‑related field
  • Familiarity with basic wet‑lab skills such as pipetting, sample handling, or sterile technique
  • Experience working in a clinical, research, academic, or diagnostic laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of laboratory recordkeeping, inventory, or quality assurance practices
  • Interest in pursuing a career in molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratory science, or laboratory operations
Job Type

Salary

$19-20 per hour
, depending on experience
