About The Role

The Medical Assistant in our Allergy & ENT practice plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by ensuring efficient and compassionate patient care. This position involves preparing patients for examinations, assisting with allergy testing, and managing medical instruments and specimens with precision. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for accurately recording vital signs and maintaining a sterile environment to prevent infection.

Collaboration with Nurse Practitioners and other clinical staff is essential to facilitate smooth clinical operations and enhance patient outcomes. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the delivery of high‑quality otolaryngology and allergy services within a patient‑centered healthcare setting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of otolaryngology clinical procedures and terminology.
  • Experience with allergy testing and specimen processing in a clinical setting.
  • Basic understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working alongside providers in an otolaryngology and allergy clinic.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in outpatient settings.
  • Additional certification or training in allergy testing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient‑centered care.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories relevant to otolaryngology.
  • Assist healthcare providers during allergy testing procedures and other diagnostic assessments.
  • Handle, process, and label medical specimens accurately following established protocols.
  • Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
  • Coordinate with Providers and clinical staff to support patient care plans and follow‑up procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
