Position:
Administrative / Nursing Support (LVN or Staff Medical Assistant)
Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00–5:00
- Accurate and complete reporting and documentation of patient care, provider orders, and provider interactions.
- Follow clinic protocols and directions from nursing team leaders or supervisors.
- Prepare patients for provider examinations and perform vital signs and diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, visual screenings).
- Monitor and order medical and office supplies, ensuring inventory is current and not expired.
- Flush medication refill requests using the ARC refill protocol and review provider refill baskets.
- Clean patient rooms, handle dirty laundry, and maintain fresh linens in the laundry cart.
- Assist providers with sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing, including equipment setup, patient preparation, and documentation.
- Maintain equipment (autoclaves, wash speculums, etc.) and track expiration dates.
- Adhere to company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
- Maintain dependable attendance and engage in holiday shift(s) as required.
- Follow core competencies and participate in the orientation of new employees.
- For LVN: administer medications and injections, provide direct nursing care and educational counseling, vaccine management, and patient phone communication.
- For Staff Medical Assistant: provide educational materials, administer medication under physician direction, review lab results, and assist with abnormal results communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing.
- Experience in ambulatory or acute care preferred.
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Texas; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge, skill, and abilities in patient care, communication, technology, and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required:
Medical Assistant experience, or comparable clinical experience (e.g., CNA/EMT/PCT) with manual vitals and medication administration, or graduation from a medical assistant program. - Preferred: ≥6 months experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Knowledge, skill, and abilities in medication administration, medical terminology, organization, and teamwork; BLS certification required.
