The Role
A Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) is a clinically trained, lived‑experience resource who guides patients and caregivers through the Crane Center surgical process. The PCC handles patient retention, maintains continuous contact throughout treatment, and serves as the liaison among the clinical team, administrative staff, and patients.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Review and respond to outreach emails, providing ongoing support via phone or email.
- Solicit referrals from patients and create excitement for sharing a positive experience with friends and family.
- Orient and educate patients and families to the practice, assisting them in navigating the patient experience.
- Provide educational information under the direction of a Physician Assistant or Medical Provider about treatments, procedures, medications, and continuing‑care requirements.
- Address patient concerns and coordinate resolution with appropriate staff, following through until resolved.
- Monitor patient charts and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure progress toward surgery.
- Support front‑office staff as needed or directed.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
- Demonstrate general office skills: keyboarding, computer software use, filing, telephone etiquette, email handling, faxing, and copying.
- Assist during office visits: rooming patients, taking vital signs, medical histories, wound care, suture removal, and exam preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a clinical field; a college degree may be substituted with licensed credentials in a related field or years of experience in a medical practice/hospital.
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical‑related field.
- Certification in CMA, CNA, PCT, EMT, or similar (preferred).
- BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (preferred).
- Willingness to fill any gaps in credentials or education during employment.
- Spoken, read, and written Spanish preferred.
Austin, TX
Work HoursFull‑time on‑site;
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Benefits, overtime, and breaks are managed in accordance with state regulations.
- Hourly rate $24–$26 depending on education, experience, and preferred skills.
