Austin Oaks Hospital is an 80‑bed facility that offers a broad spectrum of psychiatric services for adults, including inpatient and outpatient programs for substance abuse. Located in South Austin, the hospital provides a home‑like environment that promotes crisis resolution, positive self‑awareness, social skills and personal growth.
Position OverviewMental Health Technician – Evenings (3 p‑11 p) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a charge nurse. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and assistance with activities of daily living. The Technician must be flexible for reassignment to units caring for varied populations, including male adults and dually diagnosed adults.
Qualifications- Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. - Experience:
One year prior psychiatric experience preferred. - Licensure/Certification: CPR Certification and knowledge of therapeutic relationships, age‑specific growth & development, limit setting, crisis & behavior management.
