Job Summary and Qualifications

The manager of Volunteer Services and Community Engagement is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing effective utilization of approximately 200 student and 150 adult volunteers. Operational organization includes cooperative efforts with volunteers and facility staff to provide meaningful services to patients and staff in an effort to extend the facility mission and goals into the community we serve. Functions as a liaison between the facility, St.

David’s Healthcare Volunteer organization, and volunteer employees. Maintains competencies, other associated organizational requirements and compliance measures of adult and student volunteers, and volunteer employees.

  • You will assess the need for volunteers throughout St. David’s Medical Center.
  • You will recruit volunteers to meet facility and community needs.
  • You will place volunteers according to departmental job descriptions.
  • You will provide volunteer training.
  • You will provide for evaluation and advancement of volunteer program on an ongoing basis.
  • You will provide general oversight to the Volunteer Executive Board and Student Leadership Board.
  • You will oversee operations of the St. David’s Medical Center Gift Shop.
  • You will maintain efficient operation of the Volunteer Services Department.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in human resources, psychology, business, education, public relations, or related field required.
  • CAVS (Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of two‑year supervisory experience required with ability to supervise large, diverse groups of people.
  • Two years experience managing volunteers in a non‑profit or health care agency preferred.
  • Two years experience in Public Relations, Communications or Human Services in a health‑related field preferred.
