Associate Optometrist, Vision Therapy Focus (Training Provided)

Transform Lives Through Vision Care in Austin, TX!

The Center for Vision Development is seeking a passionate optometrist to join our team in a role centered around vision therapy and functional vision care. We are a vision therapy focused practice, and in our model, a strong foundation in vision therapy is essential before independently performing comprehensive vision therapy evaluations and progress exams. For this reason, all optometrists, regardless of prior experience, begin with immersive training in our vision therapy program.

We welcome both experienced optometrists with a background in vision therapy or neuro optometric rehabilitation and recent graduates, including 4th year optometry students or new O.D.s, who are eager to develop expertise in this specialty area.

What You Will Do
  • Begin structured training in vision therapy alongside active patient care
  • Provide full scope optometry, including primary care, vision therapy evaluations, progress evaluations, and myopia management
  • Build a strong foundation in vision therapy while applying it in real time within patient care
  • Collaborate closely with vision therapists to guide patient outcomes and ensure consistency of care
  • Provide comprehensive care with an emphasis on functional vision and long‑term success
  • Build meaningful relationships with patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to establish trust and connection
  • Spend intentional, quality time with patients to truly understand their needs and progress
  • Continue learning and growing within a vision therapy focused practice
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and patient‑centered team environment
Who You Are
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) or graduating 4th year optometry student
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Texas
  • Genuinely loves connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Strong communicator who builds trust quickly and values relationships
  • Takes pride in spending meaningful time with patients and truly getting to know them
  • Excited to learn and grow within a vision therapy focused practice
  • A team player who values a positive, supportive, and patient‑centered environment
