Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Procedures IR Rad Tech with at least 1 year of recent experience in interventional radiology for a 13-week day shift contract in Austin, TX.

Details
  • Interventional Radiology department located on the lower level of an acute care hospital in downtown Austin, TX
  • 438-bed facility designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Day shift staffing includes 5 IR Techs and 2 RNs; on‑call coverage required for nights and weekends
  • Procedures include permanent/dialysis catheter placement, angiogram, embolization, mechanical thrombectomy, and kyphoplasty
  • Equipment includes Siemens Bi-Plane x2
  • EMR:
    Meditech (RIS system) and Fuji PACS
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • On‑call required for nights and weekends
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in general and neuro interventional radiology
  • Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the specialty
  • Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) — certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
  • ARRT or applicable certification required; license required if applicable
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting patient volumes in a fast‑paced environment
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
  • One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
  • Neurovascular intervention and stroke care experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Siemens Bi-Plane is preferred
  • The facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, so comfort with neuro IR cases is a strong asset
  • Team consists of 7 full‑time Special Procedures/IR Techs and 6 RNs
  • Scrub color: black pants with sage/olive green top, or hospital‑issued scrubs
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
