American Traveler is hiring a Special Procedures IR Rad Tech with at least 1 year of recent experience in interventional radiology for a 13-week day shift contract in Austin, TX.
Details- Interventional Radiology department located on the lower level of an acute care hospital in downtown Austin, TX
- 438-bed facility designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Day shift staffing includes 5 IR Techs and 2 RNs; on‑call coverage required for nights and weekends
- Procedures include permanent/dialysis catheter placement, angiogram, embolization, mechanical thrombectomy, and kyphoplasty
- Equipment includes Siemens Bi-Plane x2
- EMR:
Meditech (RIS system) and Fuji PACS - 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- On‑call required for nights and weekends
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in general and neuro interventional radiology
- Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the specialty
- Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) — certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- ARRT or applicable certification required; license required if applicable
- Ability to work independently and manage shifting patient volumes in a fast‑paced environment
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Neurovascular intervention and stroke care experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with Siemens Bi-Plane is preferred
- The facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, so comfort with neuro IR cases is a strong asset
- Team consists of 7 full‑time Special Procedures/IR Techs and 6 RNs
- Scrub color: black pants with sage/olive green top, or hospital‑issued scrubs
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
