Lead Mammography Technologist
Location:
North Austin, TX
Hours:
Full Time | M-F 8-5
- Operate x-ray equipment and perform mammography-related diagnostic procedures with a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
- Deliver efficient, comfortable screening experiences using advanced digital mammography technology.
- Provide patient-focused support and contribute to a cohesive and friendly environment.
- Support radiology workflows under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor or Radiologist.
- Complete patient education regarding the exam and prepare for and assist the Radiologist in complex mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
- Education:
Completion of a two-year approved school of radiologic technology. - Experience:
One year of full-time experience as a Mammography Technologist with documented clinical experience; 3D is required. - Licensure:
Valid state radiology registration as required by state law. - Certification:
Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). - Current CPR/BLS Certification.
- Continuing
Education:
MQSA/FDA – 15 CEU’s every 3 years; 200 documented case numbers every 2 years. - Knowledge of database software; eRad and Sectra RIS/PACS preferred.
- Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound-guided core and stereotactic biopsies preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
- Provide services and support for the following areas:
- Understand, promote and demonstrate the Solis Way.
- Communicate procedures effectively to patients and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
- Communicate effectively with doctors, patients, and other employees
- Apply common sense to carry out detailed and complex instructions
- Maintain a patient-first focus and exhibit outstanding customer service; practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique
- Adhere to radiation safety measures under supervision
