Overview:
The US Oncology Network's Texas Oncology is hiring a Patient Services Representative to support the Gynecology Oncology department in South Austin. This full‑time position (Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑5 pm, no weekends or holidays) may be level 1, 2, or Sr depending on experience.
The role focuses on front‑office operations, insurance coordination, scheduling, and patient financial counseling, ensuring compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities- Answer incoming calls, assess needs, and direct callers or page clinic staff.
- Schedule new, referred, and returning patients in the computer system; cancel or reschedule appointments as needed.
- Enter and update insurance authorizations, referrals, and patient chart information (EMR).
- Collect co‑pays, deductibles, and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at the time of visit.
- Maintain the primary office scheduling template, including physician meetings and call coverage.
- Arrange financial counseling and communicate about surgeries or tests, including pre‑certification requests.
- Assist with follow‑up on pre‑operative tests and post‑operative appointments.
- Support other front‑office functions as requested and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, and forms as directed by the supervisor.
Level 1: High school diploma or equivalent; 0–3 years of medical‑office experience.
Level 2: Minimum 3–5 years of medical‑office experience (in addition to Level 1 requirements).
Level Sr: Minimum five years of medical‑office experience (in addition to Levels 1 and 2).
Physical DemandsEmployee will sit for most of the shift; use hands for typing, handling documents, and use light lifting up to 30 lb. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.
Work EnvironmentFrequent interaction with patients and staff; typical office setting in a community oncology clinic.
