Overview
The US Oncology Network is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator to join our team at Texas Oncology. This full‑time position supports the Oncology Department at our 901 W. 38th Street clinic in Austin, Texas, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The role can be level 1, 2, or Sr based on relevant work experience.
Responsibilities- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and professional manner; checks in and informs clinical staff of arrival.
- Provides, explains and collects required paperwork; updates demographics and insurance information; collects co‑pays and issues receipts.
- Answer, screen and route incoming calls; capture thorough messages; page clinic personnel as appropriate.
- Check patients out after examination; schedule returning appointments and provide details including time, location and instructions.
- Record cancellations and missed appointments; reschedule and notify appropriate staff.
- Provide general administrative support by filing charts, keeping the lobby area orderly and maintaining supplies.
- Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal and HIPAA laws and guidelines.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Level 1).
- Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Must complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.
- At least 18 months of front‑office medical receptionist experience (Level 2). Knowledge of insurance forms and scheduling software a plus.
- At least 5 years of front‑office medical receptionist experience (Level Sr). Advanced scheduling and insurance expertise required.
The physical demands include sitting, using hands and fingers, occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting or moving up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing must be correctable to normal ranges.
