Program Director, Clinical Pharmacy Programs

The Program Director reports to the Executive Director of Pharmacy and provides strategic oversight and coordination of all Clinical Pharmacy Programs across the City of Hope Cancer and Allied Products (CAP) network. The role is focused on improving patient outcomes and safety through the development, implementation, and evaluation of pharmacy services and medication therapy practices.

• Plan, establish, and execute new clinical pharmacy programs, and refine existing programs to meet patient needs across all CAP sites.
• Standardize medication management policies, guidelines, and treatment plans throughout the system.
• Lead the Formulary, Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T), and related committees; provide drug‑formulary oversight.
• Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and best practices related to medication therapy; ensure compliance with FDA and The Joint Commission regulations.
• Create metrics to assess staff productivity and program effectiveness; monitor and report on outcomes.
• Coordinate pharmacoeconomic initiatives to enhance cost‑effective patient care; monitor marketplace opportunities and manage therapeutic conversions.
• Devise strategies to mitigate drug‑shortage impacts for patients across all CAP sites.
• Collaborate with clinical pharmacists, nursing, and other clinical leaders to guide program development and delivery.
• Support staff development and promotion of advanced practice; facilitate research, publication, and presentation opportunities.
• Engage with pharmacy schools to oversee student training rotations; represent the CAP Pharmacy Department at professional and community organizations.
• Adhere to City of Hope policies, including Code of Conduct, Compliance Plan, safety, and infection control guidelines.

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree (minimum).
• Minimum 6 years’ experience planning and executing pharmacy programs with at least 10 years in a hospital setting.
• Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) license (required);
  Pharmacy license (required).
• Preferred: ASHP‑accredited PGY‑1 or PGY‑1 and PGY‑2 residencies.
• Preferred: 5 years of experience in oncology pharmacy settings.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with personal computers and data analysis tools.
