American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week assignment in a cardiac catheterization lab setting.
Details- Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab performing peripheral, DVT, LHC, RHC, biopsy, and structural heart procedures
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 13-week contract
- Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience
- BLS certification required (AHA accepted)
- License required if applicable
- 2 professional references required
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
- Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, selecting anatomic and technical parameters, administering contrast media and medications within scope of practice, and monitoring patients throughout procedures
- Performs diagnostic and cardiovascular invasive procedures using ionizing radiation, including complex image manipulation, data interpretation, and quality radiographic image production
- Conducts complex patient assessment and monitoring including vital signs, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, heart rhythm, venous and arterial access, urinary catheterization, and wound care
- Performs wire and catheter manipulation and placements as permitted by licensure, adhering to departmental competency standards
- Manages sterile field and infection control protocols, including mentoring and competency documentation for medical imaging staff
- Performs inventory management, procedure scheduling, supply ordering, and case-specific documentation
- Provides patient and family education before and after procedures, including discharge instructions
- Documents patient radiation exposure and follows all radiation safety procedures and guidelines
- May be required to take on-call assignments; rotates room, case, and call-back assignments with other qualified staff
