Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Brookdale at Home
You will provide one‑on‑one companionship and non‑medical hands‑on care to seniors in their homes, assisting with personal care, housekeeping, pet care, transportation, medication reminders, and other support as outlined in the care plan.
Responsibilities- One‑on‑one companionship
- Non‑medical hands‑on care including dressing, bathing, grooming, personal care and assistance with transfers
- Housekeeping and laundry services
- Pet care
- Transportation to doctor’s appointments and other errands
- Medication reminders
- Standing, walking, use of hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
- Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
- Talk or hear
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Vision requirements
- Requires interaction with co‑workers, residents or vendors
- Occasional weekend, evening or night work if needed to maintain shift coverage
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases and infections; exposure to latex and blood‑borne pathogens; exposure to chemicals, biological hazards, burns, odors, or cuts from equipment
- Requires frequent travel to client homes
Makes standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with independent judgment. Problems are generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills- Basic level of skill and ability to follow written or verbal instructions
- Basic technical skills to complete repetitive and well‑defined duties
- Basic knowledge of the organization to answer basic questions
- Reading and comprehension of simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Writing of simple correspondence
- Effective communication in English with patients, family members, and associates
- Application of common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or oral form
- Use of good judgment in emergency situations, seeking assistance when needed
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Proof of completion of an approved Home Health Aide program
- Preference for six months of experience working independently with home care clients in private homes
Special Requirements
- Must possess current state certification or state‑specific required training and provide proof of required training
- Follow regulations to maintain current certification and/or training requirements
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Must have a valid state identification card and a valid driver’s license (preferred)

Base pay will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Temporary associates are not benefit‑eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program. Veterans, transitioning active‑duty military personnel, and military spouses are encouraged to apply. We offer to advance fees for naturalization (Form N‑400) application costs, up to $725, for qualified associates who have been with us for at least a year.
