- Assess and develop individualized care plans to manage and treat patients experiencing acute and chronic respiratory insufficiencies.
- Implement and perform advanced respiratory care modalities, meticulously monitoring and communicating patient response to treatment and life-support equipment.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory treatments and administered medications, adjusting the plan of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Respond immediately to all emergency resuscitation team codes, providing critical and life-saving respiratory support.
- Educate patients and their families on managing their health condition and connect them with appropriate community resources and support programs.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Minimum of 2 recent years of experience as a RRT in Hospital Setting
- State and National Licensure
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
