BONE DRs Orthopedic Care is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a strong focus on Surgical First Assisting. This role is designed for a PA who thrives in the operating room and seeks a collaborative, fast-paced environment working alongside fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons.
I.
The Role:
Surgery, Clinic, and Continuum of Care
Primary Responsibilities:
- Surgical First Assist: Serve as the primary first assist in a high-volume surgical environment, focusing on total joint arthroplasty (hips, knees, shoulders) and advanced sports medicine procedures.
- Clinical Excellence: Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-ray, MRI, Labs), and formulate evidence-based treatment plans in the outpatient clinic.
- Perioperative Management: Manage the continuum of care, including pre-operative medical optimizations and post-operative follow-up care.
- Procedures: Perform joint aspirations, injections (ultrasound-guided preferred), and minor office-based procedures.
- Collaborative Practice: Work in a "team-lead" capacity with our surgeons, physical therapists, and care coordinators to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
II. Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current NCCPA Certification (PA-C).
- Active, unrestricted Texas Physician Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Surgical Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of surgical first-assist experience, specifically in orthopedics.
- Current BLS/ACLS certification.
