Pharmacy Technician - Austin

Full Time Pharmacy Tech or Experienced Trainee – 4018 N. Lamar location

Peoples Rx is a locally‑owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community and been a beloved Austin icon for over 40 years. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with our progressive, world‑class pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer.

The ideal candidate has the ability to process a variety of prescriptions in a fast‑paced retail environment and maintains a positive attitude with fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely, and accurately to fill patient prescriptions while providing a unique customer experience.

This is a full‑time position, and candidates should be available to work at least 30 hours per week with a consistent and reliable schedule.

• Must have active TSBP Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee license
• Must reside in the greater Austin area (in‑person role, variable locations)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong data entry skills with accuracy and efficiency
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology
• 6 months to 1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Able to lift up to 30 + lbs and stand for extended periods (typically up to 8 hours)

• Process and verify prescription orders (written/electronic)
• Accurately input prescription data into pharmacy software
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions
• Contact providers for prescription clarifications and refill authorizations
• Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim issues
• Support pharmacists with packaging and labeling medications
• Help maintain inventory and place medication orders when directed

Starting Pay: $17.00 - $21.00/hour (Based on certification level + experience)
