Job Summary

Patient Transporter – full‑time and part‑time positions at TouchPoint, a Compass Healthcare company located at 1201 West 38th Street, Austin, TX 78705. This role safely transports patients, medical equipment, and related items within the hospital environment.

Location:

1201 West 38th Street, Austin, TX 78705.

Schedule:

Full‑time and part‑time shifts Monday through Friday; rotating weekends. Hours vary by shift.

Pay Range: $16.00 to $17.00 per hour.

• Safely transports patients to assigned destinations, securing IVs, drainage tubes, and other equipment.
• Uses wheelchairs and approved rolling stock to move patients.
• Demonstrates competency in transporting patients of all age groups.
• Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, and dispatch.
• Provides patient comfort, offers blankets, checks modesty, and engages in appropriate conversation.
• Alerts nursing staff immediately to patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintains and reports equipment needing repairs.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
• Adheres to HIPAA policies and procedures concerning patient confidentiality and rights.
• Performs other assigned duties as needed.

• Prior patient transporter experience preferred.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Basic knowledge of medical equipment and patient safety protocols.
• Clear Florida Level 2 background screening (required for certain positions).
