Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse Austin, TX. This position involves providing urgent care in a high-volume Emergency Department with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care. The role requires adaptability and strong clinical skills to effectively manage a diverse patient population during night shifts.
- Schedule:
Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. - Required Qualifications:
Valid RN licensure, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and additional certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). No minimum years of experience specified. - Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with more than 2 years of relevant experience and all listed certifications will be considered first. - Additional Information:
- The unit supports a 32-bed emergency department with a staff of approximately 117 healthcare professionals.
- The team consists of Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Medical Assistants, and PCTs working across all shifts with a patient ratio of 4:1.
- Typical procedures performed include intubations, lac repairs, suture removals, splinting, and lumbar punctures.
- Dress code requires navy blue scrubs and a zip-up navy blue sweater; pull-over sweatshirts are not acceptable.
