The MRI Technologist, supervised by a Radiologist, performs MRI procedures on patients. These are requested by a physician or licensed provider for diagnosing disease and injury, following established protocols.

Essential functions of the role include:

• Performing high-quality MRI procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Maintaining production and quality of imaging by following established standards and procedures.
• Utilizing AIDET to communicate with patients. Identifying patient service needs, ensuring the correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establishing rapport with patients and others. Instructing and communicating with patients and their family about the test to be performed. Assessing the patient's ability to tolerate the exam.
• Preparing the patient and area for the procedure by positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Protecting patients and employees by following safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies. Using proper sterile techniques for invasive procedures and maintaining hand hygiene.
• Maintaining equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Working with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation. Reporting issues to management or the appropriate department. Assisting in maintaining supplies inventory.
• Ensuring people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
• Obtaining, verifying, and maintaining all relevant documentation. This includes requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, and procedures.
• Maintaining medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.

• Provide services promptly, accurately, and cost-efficiently, following System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
• Able to perform tasks autonomously without need for routine oversight.
• Able to stay calm and helpful during stress and take reasonable steps to resolve issues.
• Able to effectively administer first aid and use emergency cart.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service. Remain professional, review patient satisfaction scores, and develop action plans when needed.
• Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, education, and skills for appropriate care of newborns, pediatric, young adults, adults, and geriatrics.
• Able to serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
• Able to take call, if required.

Qualifications:

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE
  - Less than 1 Year of Experience
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
  - American Reg MRI Tech (ARMRIT), ARRT-MR Magnetic Res Imaging (ARRT-MR), ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R):
  Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT(MR) or Radiography ARRT(R) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT).
