Provide high quality patient care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations in conjunction with fellow team members during intra-facility transport by way of air or ground.
- Perform assessment and stabilization of patients as well as any necessary diagnostic and therapeutic interventions during transport of critically ill/injured patients.
- Assure quality of care by adhering to established standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to include therapists, nurses and physicians.
- Participate in decision-making and partners with the multidisciplinary team to enhance operational efficiency during transport.
- Maintain competencies specific to flight safety and flight physiology training, EMS rules and regulations, advanced assessment, and decision making skills.
- Inspect and maintain equipment and supplies to ensure safety of the transport team and patients.
- Will transport patients/supplies in any or all of the following modes of transportation: ground ambulance, rotor wing, fixed wing, jet.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner temporary/provisional license will be accepted until license is issued.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- One or more of the following required:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Allow in lieu of Basic Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Allow in lieu of Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
