The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. Essential Job Functions (EJFs)- Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
- Prepares production sheets to provide production and control room staff information needed to prepare correct amounts of foods and delivery tags to serving areas.
- Receives and records requests for diets, food request forms to provide an effective service to the residents.
- Receives and answers telephone and written inquires concerning diet and food programs.
- Collects and maintains diet census records.
- Shares responsibility with other clerical personnel for all daily activities of the Food & Nutrition Services Department involved in office management.
- Completes all required training per policy.
- Observes safety procedures and practices.
- Other duties as assigned including but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Knowledge of therapeutic and modified texture diets.
- Knowledge of general food service policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of working and checking food service tray line operations.
- Knowledge of computers and computer programs.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of general arithmetic and ability to perform general arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Demonstrates computer skills or ability/commitment to learn to an acceptable level of competency.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs.
- Ability to apply learned skills effectively.
- Ability to effectively organize and utilize time while working independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to express oneself effectively and in a professional manner, communicating information clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with food service staff, direct care staff, clients and others.

Initial Screening Criteria- Graduation from an accredited High School or GED equivalent.
- Experience as a clerk in an office setting preferred.
- Experience with specialized diets OR ability to learn the specialized diets, preferred.
