Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role based in Austin, TX. The Medical Assistant will support clinicians by preparing exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with examinations and minor procedures. Daily responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, updating and maintaining electronic medical records, handling phone calls and scheduling, and managing basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection and vaccinations as permitted.

The role also involves patient education on visit instructions, medication or treatment plans, and follow-up care, while ensuring adherence to safety, infection control, and compliance standards. The Medical Assistant collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver efficient, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting skills, including vital signs, exam preparation, and clinical support.
  • Solid understanding of Medical Terminology to communicate effectively with clinicians and accurately document patient encounters.
  • Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, phone triage, and coordination of patient flow.
  • Strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on safety, empathy, and clear communication across diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to manage and maintain Medical Records, preferably with experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) is preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within required timeframe.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning in support of high-quality, patient-centered care.
