Landlord Outreach Specialist

The Landlord Outreach Specialist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) that works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to assist homeless or at risk for homelessness consumers in achieving and maintaining housing stability and promote wellness. They do this by assisting in housing orientations, the housing application process, complete necessary housing paperwork with landlords, communicate with housing agents to ensure that all necessary documents are completed in a timely manner, schedule housing inspections, attend housing inspections with landlords as needed, oversee the lease signing process with the consumer and landlord, develop and maintain relationships with landlords, provide education to landlords and individualized personal centered care to consumers.

They deliver therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain/maintain housing, locate and remove barriers to housing, apply for housing and housing programs, and coordinate ongoing rental assistance. Landlord Outreach Specialists may also facilitate psychosocial rehabilitative skills training groups and/or utilize other evidenced-based interventions or therapeutic modalities as well as provide service coordination to obtain services related to employment, education, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and resources fulfilling any basic need.

Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) embrace trauma-sensitive and informed practices, provide Suicide Safer care, and foster a supportive and welcoming environment. QMHPs operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and/or stakeholders. Interventions and services can be both office- and community-based and may require the use of a personal automobile.

Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD.

Staff members in this position are working under the supervision of a clinically licensed professional who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of all assessments, diagnoses and treatment. At this level, clinical assignments may be of moderate complexity and are handled with considerable independence, and complicated cases receive closer clinical review and supervision.

Services provided may include individual, family and/or group skills training using evidence-based interventions, crisis assessment, and case management.

Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

• Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Hours:

Full-Time.

Workdays: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

Workhours:
Monday - Friday.

Salary: $24.18- $25.39 an hour, based on education, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.
