SchedulePRN/As Needed – Weekend availability required. The Milieu Therapist may be required to work on-call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
What You’ll Be DoingThe Milieu Therapist facilitates groups based on core curriculum, provides meal monitoring and support, and offers milieu support, de‑escalation and behavior coaching to patients in IP/Res and PHP programs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Facilitate curriculum‑based groups
- Provide meal monitoring and support
- Document groups, meals, patient check‑ins, and observations
- Support the milieu, including:
- De‑escalation and crisis management
- Bathroom monitoring
- Monitoring outside breaks
- Conduct self‑harm and suicide assessment
- Support morning routine in IP/Res programs
- Collect weights, vitals and urine in some settings
- Implement individual behavior management plans and serve as clinical lead for standalone programs in evenings and weekends; lead advanced groups
- Provide coverage for Primary Therapists with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director
- Bachelor’s degree in mental health or related field (required)
- Master’s degree in mental health or related field (required)
- Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board (required)
- Minimum 18 months of experience in a behavioral health or related field (waived with relevant master’s degree)
- 1+ year of facilitating groups (preferred)
