Responsibilities

The Prevention Specialist is responsible for the successful delivery of intensive student education programs and training to communities, caregivers and educators as well as various other HBFF products and services across the enterprise solutions department. The position has primary responsibility for providing direct services to customers and schools, including training and coaching supports. The role will serve as an implementation and subject matter expert for various prevention curricula as they support schools seeking to implement comprehensive prevention programming.

  • Implement training, education and consultation services in support of HBFF’s product lines and services in-person and using a variety of tools and methods including online content, and other technologies
  • Actively engage in professional development.
  • Participate on project teams as required.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of related work experience or an AA degree plus 4 years related work experience
  • 5 years of experience in prevention, education, substance use, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience as a training facilitator with extensive knowledge of prevention, recovery, evidence-based treatment of addiction and mental illness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • State-specific prevention specialist licensure or other current professional license (e.g., alcohol and drug counseling, social work, psychology)
  • Experience in prevention settings and knowledge of the dynamics of substance use disorder and its effect on individuals, families and communities.
  • History of working on research projects and familiarity with research protocols
  • Experience working with students in a school setting
  • Master’s degree in public health, education, counseling or related field
