The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays an essential role in implementing individualized

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT provides direct, one-on-one behavioral intervention services to clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges.

The RBT is responsible for carrying out skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs under close

supervision, maintaining accurate data, and fostering meaningful progress for each client in alignment

with their personalized treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized ABA programs and behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Provide direct behavioral services across settings such as homes, clinics, schools, and community.
  • Accurately collect, record, and graph data on client behaviors and skill acquisition targets.
  • Follow specific teaching procedures (e.g., discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, task analysis, prompting, and prompt fading) to promote learning and independence.
  • Maintain consistent communication with supervising BCBA regarding client progress, session outcomes, and any concerns related to program implementation.
  • Assist in the generalization of skills across different environments and individuals (e.g., home to community, therapist to caregiver).
  • Support clients in developing communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills through positive and evidence-based methods.
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development to ensure quality service delivery and continuous learning.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with the BACB RBT Ethics Code, including confidentiality, client dignity, and appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and other team members to support progress and consistency of treatment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required);
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field (preferred).
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or willingness to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral needs preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under supervision and accept feedback to improve performance.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and observational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent session schedules.
  • Basic proficiency in data collection systems, documentation, and use of digital tools (e.g., tablets, data entry apps).

  • RBTs receive ongoing supervision, feedback, and professional development opportunities from a BCBA.
  • Growth into advanced clinical roles or leadership positions within Collaborate ABA is supported through continuing education and performance excellence.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay will be determined based on the candidate’s education, relevant experience, and qualifications. Full-time RBTs will receive health, dental, and vision insurance benefits.
