DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONYour work schedule includes a mixture of days, evenings and weekends. This job description is a record of the essential functions of Physical Therapy Assistant-PRN. It will make your role clear to you and the organization, Stellar Care Staffing (SCS). This document will also make clear the professional and physical requirements of this position.
POPULATION SERVEDClients we serve may range from the young adult to the geriatric population. Age specific experience is necessary to serve these populations.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current PTA license in the state of Texas
- Effective communication to the clients, the organization, and the supervising physical therapists
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing physical therapy services to patients in the home under the direct or indirect supervision of a physical therapist, in conjunction with the patient, family and interdisciplinary team, following the plan of treatment as documented by the supervising physical therapist. The PTA will be responsible for clinical outcomes as well as industry benchmarks.
Supervision must be performed by a registered physical therapist, directly or indirectly. The PTA will regularly monitor patient status and address all problems identified in the Plan of Care. The PTA will provide educational information to the patient, family or caregiver concerning knowledge deficits or needs regarding the patient's condition. The PTA will communicate with other disciplines involved in the case as warranted.
Therapy settings may vary including but not limited to home health, facilities and schools. All specific training and instruction will be provided directly from the site supervisor or manager.
