Pharmacy Technician Austin, TX | 3-Month Contract | $30.00/Hour

Corner Stone Medical is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support a State Hospital in Austin, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician looking for a stable weekday assignment, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work in a state healthcare environment.

Position Details

Pay: $30.00/hour

Contract:

3 months minimum
Schedule:

Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM OR 8:30 AM-5:30 PM
Training:
Candidates must be available for 9 consecutive days of training, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities

Managing and maintaining medication inventory
Preparing medications for pharmacist final verification
Delivering medications to patient care areas
Conducting medication room and area inspections
Assisting with manual and automated medication repackaging
Providing technical support to pharmacy staff
Performing pharmacy-related clerical duties
Assisting with medication distribution and inventory processes
Providing guidance and assistance to other staff as needed
Following all applicable hospital, HHSC, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy policies, procedures, regulations, and professional standards
Exercising appropriate initiative and independent judgment within the scope permitted by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

Required Qualifications

Current Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
Experience in pharmaceutical assistance work
Ability to successfully complete a urine drug screen
Ability to successfully pass a background check
Ability to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check
Availability for the full contract and required training schedule

Pyxis Med Station
Medication room inspections
Manual medication repackaging
Automated medication repackaging
Hospital or institutional pharmacy operations
