• Position: Pharmacy Technician
• Location: Austin, TX
• Schedule Options:
  • 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
• Days: Monday - Friday
• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Contract: Minimum 3 months
• Start Date: ASAP

Candidate must be available to complete 9 consecutive days of training, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
, before their resume can be submitted. This training requirement is mandatory.

We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. The Pharmacy Technician will assist with medication preparation, inventory management, medication delivery, inspections, and clerical responsibilities while working within the scope of practice established by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining high standards for medication safety, accuracy, and confidentiality.

• Manage and maintain pharmacy medication inventory
• Prepare medications for final pharmacist verification
• Deliver medications to designated patient care areas
• Conduct medication area inspections
• Assist with medication storage and organization
• Perform manual and automated medication repackaging
• Provide technical assistance to pharmacy staff as needed
• Perform pharmacy-related clerical duties
• Follow medication safety procedures and applicable regulations
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Work within the scope of practice permitted by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Follow facility, HHSC, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy policies and procedures

• Current Texas Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Experience in pharmaceutical assistance work
• Strong attention to detail and medication safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
• Pyxis Med Station experience preferred
• Experience conducting medication room inspections preferred
• Experience with manual and automated medication repackaging preferred

All compliance requirements must be completed before the candidate can begin the assignment.

Candidates must have:

• Valid government‑issued photo
• Negative PPD/TB results within the past 12 months
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Ability to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check
• Ability to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check
• COVID-19 testing is desired prior to starting, but is not required; testing will be provided by the facility

• Monday‑Friday schedule only
• No 12‑hour shifts
• Staffing agency employees cannot work more than 40 hours per week unless overtime is specifically approved and scheduled by the facility
• No requested time off is currently guaranteed and will need to be discussed
• Candidates must be available for the required 9 consecutive days of training before submission
