Reporting to the Onsite Event Manager and working closely with the rest of the onsite Contigo Catering event team, this role is similar to that of a bartender at a restaurant, but with a constantly changing environment. You’ll be the face of our beverage service ’ll set up, manage, and serve the bar in a way that keeps guests happy, timelines on track, and service running smooth.

This role is fast‑paced, social, and ideal for someone with mixology chops and a people‑first attitude.

Location

Our office, kitchen, and warehouse are located in Southeast Austin at 3709 Promontory Point Drive, Suite B201, Austin, Texas 78744, but this role works almost entirely on‑site at our client events. As such, this role involves travel to and presence at various event spaces throughout and around Austin, particularly downtown, Westlake, and Dripping Springs. Reliable transportation is required. Occasionally, travel to event locations such as Marfa is required, and team support for transport is provided.

Schedule

Part‑time,ლობა non‑exempt position; exact hours vary based on event schedules. Hours fluctuate heavily based on season. Night and weekend availability is definitely required. Scheduling is done through a scheduling app that allows event staff to accept or reject shift requests based on availability.

Compensation

Base pay of $20 per hour, commensurate with experience. 1099 contractor.

Day‑to‑Day Ownership

The Onsite Event Staff’s day‑to‑day will reflect the specifics of each event and involves being on your feet to attend to the needs of our catering clients.

Duties include:

  • Set Up
    :
    Helping unload the catering truck with the rest of the team and setting up the onsite kitchen for every shift.
  • Bar & Beverage Service
    :
    Setting up and organizing the bar for efficient, high‑volume service; mixing and serving beer, wine, cocktails, and mock‑tails according to recipes and guest preferences; taking beverage orders directly or through servers; delivering consistently high‑quality drinks in a timely manner; recommending drinks based on guest tastes and the style of the event; checking IDs and ensuring responsible alcohol service in compliance with TABC and safety standards;

    maintaining a clean, well‑stocked, and visually grasses bar throughout the event; breaking down and cleaning the bar area at conclusion of service.
  • General Requirements
    :
    Close collaboration with event staff to ensure a seamless guest experience and smooth event timing; active participation in pre‑shift briefings with the event manager to understand flow and expectations; willingness to assist with general event setup and cleanup as needed; a consistent commitment to providing welcoming, professional service to guests from arrival through the end of the event.
