Launch your international culinary career with Bridge Aspire in 2026! We are seeking ambitious international chefs for a 12-month paid residency at a premier 4-Diamond luxury hotel in Austin, Texas.
This program is curated by Bridge Aspire for international graduates to gain high-level US kitchen experience under the J-1 Cultural Exchange Visa. You will train under Executive Chefs, rotate through diverse culinary environments, and immerse yourself in Austin’s world-famous food scene.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Rotational Training: You will not stand at one station for a year. You will rotate through key departments, including Banquets, Rooftop Dining, and Contemporary Modern American concepts.
- Skill Mastery: Learn advanced US culinary techniques, including high-volume production, fine dining plating, and sauce preparation.
- Kitchen Operations: Gain exposure to inventory management, food cost control, and US sanitation standards (HACCP).
- Cultural Exchange: Improve your professional English and leadership skills while working in a diverse, fast-paced American kitchen.
Position Requirements
College,
Less than 1 Year
work experience Qualifications:
- J-1 Visa Eligibility: You must be a current student OR a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) of a post-secondary culinary institution outside the United States.
- Experience: Prior internships or 6+ months of kitchen experience are highly preferred.
- Language: Must have fluent English communication skills.
- Commitment: Must be willing to relocate to Austin, TX, for the full 12-month duration.
- Proficient knife skills
- Understanding of basic cooking methods (sauté, grill, braise, roast)
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to read and follow standard recipes
- Physical stamina for standing and moving in a kitchen environment

Housing Details
Housing is not provided by the host company. Participants are responsible for securing their own accommodation. The host organization and program sponsors may provide a list of recommended apartment complexes, shared housing resources, or temporary stay options to assist interns upon arrival in Austin. It is recommended to budget accordingly for the first month’s rent and deposit.
