Summary

A Dishwasher exceeds expectations by completing tasks that include but are not limited to cleaning dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, and utensils. This position works closely with both the front of house and back of house teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

The person in this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict, and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. All Bunkhouse employees are expected to greet all guests and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome. Dishwashers must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.

Dishwashers must promote the Bunkhouse Vision in all actions and decisions.

Opened in fall 2018, this South Austin hotel is one with its lush surroundings. Carpenter Hotel features a pool with a community deck and Q Hut pavilion. Each of its 93 rooms comes with a terrace. Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction
  • Bus dining room and patio. Keep tables clear of dishes and food remnants
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition
  • Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars
  • Sweep and scrub floors
  • Clean garbage cans with water or steam
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
  • Assist in unloading deliveries (food and supplies)
  • Ensure open lines of communication via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the restaurant are met
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Attend relevant meetings
  • Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
Qualifications
  • Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or guests
