The Role
We are hiring an HR Consultant – Workforce Operations Consultant to support scaling clients who need structured HR execution without building a full internal HR team. This role focuses on operational excellence: compliance posture, policy alignment, onboarding governance, compensation support, and employee relations documentation.
What You’ll Do Client Delivery (70%)- Audit and refine HR operations for 25–100 employee companies.
- Optimize HRIS workflows.
- Support multi-state W-2 compliance structure.
- Review and formalize employee handbooks and policies.
- Support employee relations documentation and investigations.
- Transition HR-adjacent tasks from finance to structured workflows.
- Ensure required training and acknowledgments are tracked.
- Identify and mitigate workforce risk early.
- Support compensation banding validation.
- Align career ladders within HR systems.
- Strengthen performance review cycles.
- Provide practical governance recommendations.
- Contribute to HR or workforce optimization playbooks.
- Support documentation and implementation templates.
- Collaborate with recruiters and Client's stakeholders.
- Assist with AI-enhanced documentation workflows.
- 5+ years HR Generalist or People Ops experience.
- Multi-state W-2 workforce experience.
- Strong HRIS experience (Rippling preferred).
- Handbook and policy development experience.
- Employee relations process knowledge.
- Startup or scaling company exposure.
- Confident client-facing communication skills.
- Highly organized and execution-focused.
- Fractional or consulting HR experience.
- Heavy compliance-heavy industry exposure.
- ATS familiarity.
- Compensation benchmarking experience.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar experience or certification.
- Comfort with documenting processes.
