Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Payroll Manager to join our team in the Construction industry. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about overseeing and managing the entire payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management and a deep understanding of payroll processes and systems.
This role will not only manage the payroll but also provide consulting services to our clients, ensuring the best practices are implemented.
- Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Perform payroll functions including but not limited to processing, auditing, and reporting.
- Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams on payroll related matters.
- Act as a consultant to our clients, providing expert advice and guidance on payroll matters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Deliver presentations and training sessions to clients on payroll best practices.
- Continuously improve the payroll process, identifying opportunities for automation, reduction of manual tasks and enhancement of controls.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing payroll operations.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
- Proficient with payroll software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the Construction industry is a plus.
