The HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Operations serves as a strategic partner to operational leaders across field services, production/manufacturing, operations, IT, facilities, and supply chain functions. This role supports a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a large hourly workforce and distributed teams, driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement, operational effectiveness, and workforce productivity. The HRBP balances strategic partnership with hands‑on execution, ensuring HR programs and practices align with business objectives while maintaining compliance and fostering a positive employee experience.
StrategicPartnership
- Partner with Operations leadership to align HR strategies with business goals, workforce planning, and productivity targets
- Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce optimization, and labor models (hourly, shift-based, field teams)
- Support leaders in driving performance, accountability, and team effectiveness
- Act as the primary HR contact for employee relations issues across hourly and salaried populations
- Conduct investigations and provide recommendations on disciplinary actions, terminations, and conflict resolution
- Coach managers on effective communication, performance management, and employee engagement
- Ensure consistent application of policies across multiple locations and teams
- Drive performance management processes including goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews
- Identify talent gaps and partner with leaders on development and succession planning
- Support high-volume environments with scalable talent strategies
- Analyze engagement data (pulse surveys, turnover trends, absenteeism) and implement action plans
- Partner with leaders to build a strong culture of accountability, inclusion, and safety
- Support change management efforts across operational teams
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (especially related to hourly workforce, overtime, and scheduling)
- Partner with legal and leadership on risk mitigation and policy interpretation
- Maintain knowledge of wage and hour regulations, leave policies, and workplace safety considerations
- Support onboarding, workforce ramp‑up/down, and seasonal hiring needs
- Partner closely with recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and immigration (if applicable)
- Drive consistency in HR processes across field and site-based teams
- Leverage HR metrics (turnover, headcount, productivity, time-to-fill) to inform decision-making
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and workforce outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5–8+ years of HR experience, with strong exposure to operations, manufacturing, field services, or similar environments
- 8+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on payroll, compensation, and leave administration.
- Experience supporting hourly and distributed work forces
- Strong employee relations and investigation experience
- Knowledge of labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to influence leaders and drive change in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
- Experience in a startup or fast-growing company is a plus.
