The HR Advisor partners with regional People Leaders to drive business results through the implementation of talent strategies and solutions. This role provides tactical management of all day‑to‑day talent focus areas, including recruitment, performance management, development, compensation, and succession planning. The HR Advisor is the lead contact for HR in the Central region (Texas and Denver) and works full time in Austin or Houston.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate and coach managers and team members to effectively manage performance management and employee relations issues.
- Assist with performance reviews and other HR development processes.
- Travel to local field sites regularly to build effective working relationships and develop business acumen.
- Enable leaders to recruit, interview, and select top talent, executing full‑cycle recruitment activities, including sourcing, interviewing, background checks, testing, offers, and onboarding.
- Monitor recruitment process to ensure optimal hiring decisions, using candidate discussion/scoring matrix and facilitating hiring team decision making.
- Support the annual compensation process, enabling leaders to apply the company framework for total rewards and ensuring job profiles are accurately leveled and matched.
- Coach leaders on the pay‑for‑performance philosophy.
- Partner with People Leaders to create moments of importance and value, enhancing the team member experience.
- Manage workplace conflicts to continuously improve the team member experience.
- Provide local support on the coordination and delivery of team member, leadership, or management development training programs, including specialized training in recruitment, performance management, team building, and mentoring.
- Assist with the development, design, organization, and implementation of programs that drive employee satisfaction and commitment, such as employee recognition and onboarding.
- Facilitate and deliver employee and leadership training programs and coordinate with other facilitators and internal subject‑matter experts.
- Consult with payroll to ensure accurate and effective processes and systems.
- Ensure labor‑law compliance and maintain team‑member files.
- Collaborate with the HR team to create and improve people‑operations procedures and processes.
- Update and maintain people information in the HRIS system and on the intranet; create reporting as needed.
- Participate in selected cross‑functional or company‑wide committees.
- 3–5+ years of progressive HR/Business experience with talent development, recruitment strategy, performance management, and compensation.
- Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline.
- Solid working knowledge of employment regulations and legislation.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with client groups, virtually and in person.
- Strong business acumen and customer‑service orientation.
