Technical Recruiter
We are seeking an experienced Full Cycle Technical Recruiter to help scale a growing engineering organization by identifying, engaging, and hiring exceptional technical talent. This is a general-interest opportunity intended to connect with recruiters who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy owning complex technical searches from start to finish. This role is ideal for a recruiter who is energized by sourcing hard-to-find talent and partnering closely with engineering leaders to build high-performing teams.
You'll manage a significant portion of the organization's software engineering hiring needs, serving as a strategic talent partner while maintaining direct ownership of recruiting execution. You'll have the autonomy to drive search strategy, influence hiring outcomes, leverage AI-powered recruiting tools, and contribute to the evolution of a modern talent acquisition function.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting efforts for software engineering and other technical positions from intake through offer acceptance.
- Partner with hiring managers and talent leadership to define role requirements, candidate profiles, and hiring strategies.
- Develop and execute effective sourcing plans, including target company identification, talent mapping, outreach campaigns, and market research.
- Continuously assess pipeline performance and adjust recruiting strategies to meet hiring objectives.
- Maintain recruiting workflows, reporting accuracy, and applicant tracking system data integrity.
- Independently source and engage passive technical talent across multiple platforms, professional communities, and referral networks.
- Conduct in-depth recruiter screens to assess technical skills, career motivations, and overall alignment with role requirements.
- Create candidate summaries, interview evaluations, and hiring recommendations for internal stakeholders.
- Provide market intelligence regarding talent availability, compensation trends, and competitive hiring activity.
- Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to engineering leaders throughout the hiring process.
- Manage candidate relationships from initial outreach through onboarding.
- Ensure a high-quality candidate experience through proactive communication and process management.
- Coordinate interview logistics, feedback collection, offer development, and closing activities.
- Collaborate with compensation, HR, and business stakeholders to support offer negotiation and hiring decisions.
- Utilize AI-enabled tools and recruiting technologies to improve sourcing, candidate research, interview preparation, scheduling, and administrative efficiency.
- Share recruiting insights, best practices, and market intelligence with peers and hiring teams.
- Partner with recruiting team members on talent initiatives, pipeline development, and workforce planning efforts.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in recruiting processes, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience — in-house, agency, or executive search — including independent ownership of requisitions from sourcing through offer.
- Demonstrated self-sufficiency sourcing passive candidates without dedicated sourcing support.
- Strong candidate assessment skills and a track record of presenting calibrated slates with clear rationale.
- Proficiency with an applicant tracking system and modern sourcing platforms.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience with search-firm or executive-search training and recruiting technical or specialized roles — engineering, software, robotics, skilled trades, or construction / AEC.
- Hands-on use of AI recruiting tooling for screening, scorecards, and scheduling.
- Experience operating within a structured recruiting playbook or Center of Excellence model.
Work Environment
This is a 100% onsite role based in Austin, TX, requiring presence in the office 5 days a week. The current team consists of four members, with plans to expand to eight. You will likely own 2-3 roles at a time, collaborating closely with hiring managers and panels.
