About the Role
Roboptic is seeking a hands‑on HR Manager to lead all human resources functions at our Hutto, TX manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, onsite role for an experienced HR generalist who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and can operate as both a strategic partner to leadership and a day‑to‑day resource for employees on the production floor. You'll own the full employee lifecycle — recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and performance management — while helping shape the people practices that support a growing manufacturing operation.
What You'll Do- Lead full-cycle recruiting and staffing for production, engineering, and corporate roles, partnering with department managers to forecast hiring needs and reduce time-to-fill.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and ensuring fair and consistent application of company policy.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring new hires (including production staff) are set up for success from day one.
- Administer and continuously improve compensation and benefits programs, including annual open enrollment, leave management, and workers' compensation cases.
- Ensure compliance with federal, Texas state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, OSHA recordkeeping, ADA, etc.) and maintain accurate, audit-ready HR records.
- Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning, shift staffing, and labor budgeting for a manufacturing/production environment.
- Own performance management processes, including reviews, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Develop and maintain HR policies and the employee handbook, updating them as the company scales.
- Support a positive, safety‑first culture on the manufacturing floor in coordination with EHS/safety leads.
- Manage HRIS/payroll systems, ensuring accurate data, reporting, and timely payroll inputs.
- Lead training and development initiatives, including compliance training and supervisor coaching.
- Provide guidance to managers on employment law compliance, documentation, and best practices.
- Track and report HR metrics (turnover, time‑to‑fill, headcount, absenteeism) to leadership.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and Texas employment law (FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, ADA, workers' compensation, OSHA recordkeeping).
- Proven experience managing full‑cycle recruiting, employee relations, and performance management independently.
- Hands‑on experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, UKG, or similar).
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization — from production associates to executive leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growing company.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP certification preferred.
- Ability to be onsite full‑time at our Hutto, TX facility.
- Mandarin/Chinese language proficiency highly desired, given close day‑to‑day collaboration with our Taiwan‑based engineering and leadership teams
- Experience building or scaling HR functions at a growing manufacturing company.
