Company Overview

BuildASign aims to make it easy and affordable for people to share their message or tell their story with custom and personalized products. We continuously innovate and improve to provide customers with exceptional value and an experience that fosters a long-lasting relationship. The Austin, Texas-based organization has grown since the company’s inception in 2005 to include more than 700 employees. BuildASign also operates  and

We’re committed to building a team where talented people can do meaningful work, continue developing their skills, and contribute new ideas.

As BuildASign continues to grow, we’re looking for people with different experiences and perspectives who can help us make our products and customer experience even better.

The Role

We’re looking for a true people person to join our HR team as a Senior HR Generalist supporting our Manufacturing facility and Office teams.

This role is for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people—someone who listens first, approaches conversations with empathy and patience, and knows how to make team members feel heard and respected, even when navigating difficult situations.

You’re a highly visible, front-line HR partner for team members and managers. On any given day, you might help a team member understand a policy, coach a manager through a challenging conversation, work through an attendance or performance concern, support someone navigating a leave of absence, or simply be a trusted person someone can turn to with a question.

Strong HR knowledge matters, but the way you show up for people matters just as much. We’re looking for someone who can balance compassion with consistency, build trust across different teams and personalities, and bring a calm, thoughtful approach to sensitive or complex situations.

Because you’ll have a close pulse on the teams you support, your perspective will also help us identify opportunities to improve the team member experience, strengthen our processes, and shape broader people initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Serve as an approachable, trusted HR resource for team members and managers across our Manufacturing and Office teams.

Listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help team members and managers navigate concerns with patience, empathy, and good judgment.

Coach and advise managers on performance management, corrective action, attendance, policy interpretation, complaints, investigations, and other employee relations matters.

Help de-escalate difficult situations and facilitate productive, respectful conversations.

Partner with managers and team members on performance and attendance concerns, including maintaining attendance and HR trackers and drafting and supporting the delivery of corrective actions.

Manage FMLA/ADA matters, leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation claims with care, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Identify trends and opportunities to improve HR and Manufacturing policies, programs, processes, and the overall team member experience.

Process HR transactions, including new hires, terminations, leaves, and employee information changes.

Support OSHA reporting and workplace safety programs.

Conduct new hire orientations and help create a welcoming experience for new team members.

Maintain accurate documentation and support compliance across HR functions.

Contribute to HR projects, including engagement, training, process improvement, and other people initiatives.

Who You Are

Above all, you like people. You enjoy talking with team members, building relationships, and solving problems.

You’re someone who:

Leads with empathy, patience, and curiosity.

Is approachable and comfortable interacting with people at every level of an organization.

Builds trust and rapport naturally while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Understands that sometimes people need to feel heard before they’re ready to hear the answer.

Can deliver difficult messages with clarity,…
