The RoleAMD’s Cores Organization delivers industry-leading CPUs that power AMD’s server, client, gaming, and AI products. We are seeking a highly motivated professional with relevant experience in silicon design, data analytics, or engineering program support to join this innovative team. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying pre‑silicon design metrics that set the global standard for tracking and reporting CPU engineering progress.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with program management and engineering leadership to gather requirements, define dashboards and reports, and adapt solutions to evolving needs. This is a key contributor role for AMD’s next-generation cores, based in Austin, Texas.
- Driving business processes and analytics that enable effective and efficient engineering of CPUs
- Design, maintain & publish reports, and dashboards utilized as a standard for the engineering team
- Partner and collaborate with stakeholders to inform development and enable program evaluation of design quality and schedule
- Drive adoption and operational rigor across the organization through gap analysis and proactive & creative problem solving
- Ability to work with large, complex data sets and database building
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language):
Expertise in writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, joins, and views to extract and transform data efficiently from relational databases (e.g., Postgre
SQL, SQL Server, MySQL) - Skilled in using programming languages like Python (with libraries like Pandas and Num Py) or R to identify inconsistencies, handle missing values, reshape, merge, and clean terabytes of raw data for analysis
- Exceptional analytical and data processing skills using tools like Power
BI, SQL, MS Project/Excel - Knowledge of VLSI design concepts & tradeoffs
- Familiar with programming languages such as Perl, C, Tcl, etc.
- Basic understanding of computer architecture
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
