Database Administrator (Contract)
Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX/Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate is responsible for managing complex database environments and ensuring high availability.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Administer and maintain Oracle 18c/19c databases, including installation, configuration, and ongoing troubleshooting across AIX, Linux, and Solaris environments.
- Apply PSU patches, perform database upgrades (including rolling upgrades), and manage large‑scale migrations across data centers.
- Install, configure, and support multi‑node RAC systems on ASM, including ASM instance creation and issue resolution.
- Implement and troubleshoot Oracle Golden Gate for replication, ensuring reliability and data integrity.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend tuning solutions to ensure optimal system performance.
- Lead and support large teams in daily DBA operations, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and high‑availability requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA working with enterprise‑scale database environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle 18c/19c, including PSU patching, upgrades, RAC/ASM administration, and large‑scale database migrations.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot Golden Gate implementations and resolve performance bottlenecks across AIX, Linux, and Solaris platforms.

Pay Details$55.00 to $60.00 per hour.
