Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, manuals, references, or instructions. This candidate should have strong communication skills which enable them to explain complicated concepts in a simple manner. This individual will also meet with customer representatives frequently in order to understand required content.
Role DetailsTitle: Staff Technical Writer – Computing and Graphics Documentation
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: $50-$55/Hour on W2
- Develop and maintain structured technical documentation for x86 architecture and system-level features using DITA XML and CCMS.
- Implement advanced information architecture practices, including profiling attributes and conditional text, topic/map reuse and structural reuse with submaps.
- Support HTML and multi-channel publishing, ensuring accessibility and usability for internal and external audiences.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across global teams.
- Proven experience in technical writing within the semiconductor industry.
- Expertise in structured authoring using DITA XML.
- Strong knowledge of CCMS platforms (
IXIASOFT or equivalent
) and familiarity with content governance workflows. - Proficiency in information architecture principles, including reuse strategies such as profiling attributes (conditionalization).
- Python scripting experience for documentation automation.
- Experience with content migration projects and legacy format conversion.
- Project Management experience to drive documentation initiatives and cross-functional alignment.
