This position is a member of our Occupational Licensing & Registration Division.

• Provide highly complex leadership and technical support on information technology (IT) management issues for the OOW to include reviewing, evaluating, and recommending resolutions and providing impact statements to OOW Directors. Serve as the point of contact for office-level internet and IT-related issues, activities, and projects. Attend, participate, and represent the Office of Waste in the Information Technology Work Group (ITWG), Information Security Subcommittee (ISSC), and in other IT-related meetings.
• Oversee Occupational Licensing and Registration (OLR) Division IT projects. Plan, organize, and control budget, contracts, and staffing related to IT contractors.
• Review and monitor office IT systems. Apply security policies and procedures. Identify and manage potential IT risks and prepares mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Provide office guidance and keep the Director informed of potential risk of critical business practices. Responsible for the implementation of new or enhanced methods, processes, or systems. Perform/oversee the enhancement and maintenance of existing systems to ensure that methods, processes, or systems evolve with the business needs of the agency.
• Lead the development of Crystal Reports. Provide and analyze data and suggest appropriate actions/technical guidance based on history and current data. Identify data trends.

• Experience maintaining and updating webpages.
• Knowledge of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
• Experience participating in/managing IT projects.
• Experience with Crystal Reports.
• Experience with SharePoint Modern.
• Experience with making webpages and/or documents accessible.

• Five years of full-time experience in systems administration, business process analysis and modeling, application development or system and application design.

• A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus two years of required experience.

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or a related field plus three years of the required experience.

• Completion of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics or related field plus four years of the required experience.

• Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as a Systems Analyst III.

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.
