Role DescriptionAs a Senior Cloud Data Engineer (Azure & Snowflake), you will play a critical hands-on, leadership role in designing, building, supporting, and optimizing modern cloud-based data platforms. You will architect secure, scalable data pipelines. Integrate and transform complex datasets using Azure and Snowflake technologies while supporting analytics, reporting, and AI driven initiatives across both client projects and internal RSI systems. You will spearhead development in a high-paced, collaborative environment and engage in continuous improvement while fostering growth through mentorship.
This role blends data engineering excellence, cloud architecture, modern software development practices, and low-code solutions to advance RSI’s mission of digital transformation, while supporting current RSI software customers and codebases.

- Collaborate with stakeholders (including customers, product owners, and designers) to translate business needs into scalable, high impact cloud data solutions.
- Lead the design and development of enterprise grade data pipelines using Azure data engineering tools, including Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL/Synapse.
- Architect and optimize Snowflake data warehouses and pipelines, ensuring efficient data modeling, performance, cost management, and seamless integration with Azure data flows.
- Enable enterprise analytics by delivering high-quality, well modeled datasets and semantic layers for BI platforms (e.g., Power BI), providing teams with consistent, self-service insights.
- Champion high standards in code quality, performance, reliability, and scalability across all data engineering and development work.
- Contribute to defining and refining best practices for SDLC, source control, code reviews, test automation, documentation, and CI/CD processes.
- Design and implement integrations with third-party APIs, cloud native services (Azure, AWS), and enterprise BI platforms (Power BI, Strategy, SAS).
- Mentor junior developers and data engineers, fostering a collaborative culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Participate in and help lead SDLC activities using the methodology best suited to each project (Agile, Scrum, RAD, etc.).
- Partner with QA, Dev Ops, and Operations to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance deployment of data and software solutions.
- Support modernization of legacy systems, emphasizing modular architecture, microservices, and cloud native design patterns.
- Help drive adoption of RSI’s engineering standards and contribute to building a cohesive, high performing technical team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Deep understanding of Windows Operating Systems, Apple iOS, Android, computer hardware, and networking; ability to define client business requirements and design solutions to meet them.
- Strong foundation in SQL and a modern programming language (e.g., Python, C#), with a solid understanding of architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD, version control, testing automation, and effective communication across technical and nontechnical teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software and/or data engineering, with strong capability in cloud-based development.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure data services (ADF, ADLS, Azure SQL/Synapse) and working proficiency with Snowflake for data modeling and pipeline optimization.
- Be a US Citizen or possess a valid work visa.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Provide at least three (3) references, past salary, and work history.
- Overnight travel to other RSI offices and client sites, as needed.
