Scrum Master, IT Project Manager
About the Role
This is a hybrid work opportunity based in Austin, Texas. The Scrum Master will report directly to the Specialty Solutions Group VP/GM and serve 2 to 4 teams across the program as needed.
How You’ll Make a Difference- Delivery & Execution
- Serve as a Scrum Master for 2 to 4 teams across the program where required.
- Schedule and conduct meetings and ceremonies in accordance with best practices for Agile/Scaled Agile software development.
- Aid the Release Train Engineer (RTE) in achieving the objectives of the Agile Release Train (ART).
- Assist in overall program/project planning and ensure cross‑team dependencies are well‑understood and modeled in project plans and timelines.
- Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Share common Agile and Scaled Agile practices.
- Facilitate SAFe Retrospectives that generate new ideas for relentless improvement.
- Participate actively in local Scrum chapters to share and learn new Scaled Agile concepts.
- Team Collaboration and Communication
- Build team collaboration and commitment toward achieving ART and sprint objectives, prioritizing team needs.
- Continuously work to improve team performance and productivity.
- Encourage team ownership, accountability, self‑organization, and empowerment.
- Maintain relevant metrics that guide the development team to more efficient processes.
- Develop and maintain clear, effective communication between the development team, the Product Owner, and stakeholders.
- Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, document, and publish risks and issues related to the overall program and define resolution paths where required.
- Resolve cross‑team impediments and blocking issues.
- Scrum Master certification or equivalent experience.
- Strong servant‑leader mindset, coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
- 5+ years in software development and at least 3 years as a Scrum Master.
- Experience serving as a Scrum Master for global development teams.
- Demonstrated 5+ years of experience delivering software products.
- Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and a thorough understanding of PI Planning.
- High level of personal accountability and a commitment to relentless learning.
- Subject‑matter expert in Scrum/Kanban with willingness to learn beyond current knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with global development teams, Product Owners, Product Management, and senior management.
- Ability to facilitate, understand, and contribute to technical discussions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities and cultures.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business‑related field.
- Active Certified SAFe® Scrum Master (CSM).
- Participation in at least 3 PI Planning Sessions.
- Extensive knowledge of other Agile development approaches such as TDD, BDD, etc.
- Experience with Jira and implementation of best practices.
Bonus:
This position is eligible for a performance‑based bonus as part of the total compensation package.
Pay Range: 88,000.00 – (local currency)
