Azure Architect

Fulcrum Technology Solutions are seeking an Azure Cloud Architect/Engineer to support a client of our in the M&A team. This group is responsible for onboarding newly acquired organizations and migrating their infrastructure, workloads, and services into the enterprise Azure environment.

This role is heavily focused on cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and landing zone alignment. The ideal candidate understands how to assess inherited environments and move them into secure, scalable Azure architectures.

This is a contract to hire role. Targeting 3 month contract to conversion.

NOTE:

This role is onsite on Austin a few hours per day.

• Lead cloud migrations to Azure for newly acquired companies
• Assess existing environments (on-prem, hybrid, or cloud) and design migration approaches
• Build and align environments to enterprise Azure landing zone architecture
• Deploy infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep)
• Automate deployments through YAML-based CI/CD pipelines
• Use Power Shell for automation, scripting, and environment configuration
• Implement governance: RBAC, policies, networking, security controls
• Support multi-cloud scenarios where GCP workloads need integration or migration
• Work closely with security, networking, and application teams during integrations
• Help standardize infrastructure across acquired entities

• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure
• Experience with cloud migration projects (not just greenfield builds)
• Knowledge of Azure landing zones, governance, and subscription design
• Infrastructure as Code experience:
  • Terraform
  • ARM templates or Bicep
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using YAML (Azure Dev Ops or "Git Hub Actions")
• Networking knowledge (VNets, peering, firewalls, hybrid connectivity)
• Ability to evaluate and integrate legacy or inherited environments

• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience in healthcare environments
• Familiarity with Epic systems (Epic Core) infrastructure
• Experience supporting M&A or enterprise integrations

• Comfortable walking into messy, inherited environments
• Can make architectural decisions during fast‑paced integrations
• Understands governance and security, not just resource deployment
• Communicates well across technical and business stakeholders
