Senior Project Manager – Digital Accessibility
Department: ITS / Digital Accessibility Program
Location:
Onsite – Austin, TX (Local Candidates Only)
The agency is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support Digital Accessibility initiatives in collaboration with ITS Leadership and the Agency Digital Accessibility Coordinator. This role will lead planning and execution efforts to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and agency accessibility requirements, including DOJ ADA Title II and related regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with ITS Leadership, Business Analysts, and Digital Accessibility SMEs to define project scope and document current and future-state accessibility initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive project proposals, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost estimates, schedules, scope documentation, and budgets.
- Analyze and evaluate Digital Accessibility Program needs and recommend solution options.
- Monitor accessibility updates and drive continuous improvement efforts across the agency.
- Prepare and present reports outlining accessibility barriers and recommended remediation strategies.
- Document detailed user needs, program functions, and implementation steps required for system or process changes.
- Identify project risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- 8+ years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or in a related field.
- 8+ years of experience developing project proposals, WBS, cost estimates, schedules, and budgets.
- 4+ years of experience using Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, SharePoint).
- 4+ years of strong written and verbal communication experience.
- 4+ years documenting user requirements, program functions, solution options, and risk analysis.
- Experience leading or managing projects for DFPS.
- Knowledge of Texas Administrative Code, DIR EIR Accessibility Policy, and WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
- Experience supporting accessibility programs at the state or federal level.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices for digital content and Electronic Information Resources (EIR).
- PMP or Scrum Master Certification (preferred).
